B Cellars

Cab is King

B Cellars does the Napa Cab thing practically flawlessly. Everyone I bring here, from experienced oenophiles to newbies, love everything from B Cellars.

B Cellars also has the added benefit of an in-house kitchen (and an on-site garden) which allows them to offer perfectly paired food to accompany their outstanding wines. B Cellars specializes in Cabernet Sauvignon and red blends, but also offers a couple great white wines.

VGS Chateau Potelle

VGS Happens

Ahh... my first love. I arrived to California as a primarily beer drinker, and VGS changed the whole game for me. I fell in with VGS for their Zinfandel and love their other wines too.

Don't let the chic Parisian ambiance of the tasting house fool you, these guys are serious about wine - but have a wicked sense of humor. VGS stands for "Very Good Shit," and it certainly is that!

Chateau Potelle offers a fabulous food and wine paring with the food coming from Napa Valley's own Michelin-starred restaurant: La Toque.

Schramsberg Vineyards

California Champagne

California champagne, need I say more? Actually I do because Schramsberg, through their J. Davis label, also offers delicious Cabernet and Pinot wines that would be reason enough to visit. Check out their Davies tasting room in downtown St. Helena if you want to focus on reds.

Schramsberg offers many levels of sparkling wine, all delicious. Their Brut Rosé is delightful but my favorite is the J. Schram Rosé; in my opinion totally worth the higher price point.

Take a tour of the epic Schramsberg caves, that date back to the late 1800's, or spring for their seated sparkling bubbles and caviar brunch at their Davies tasting room

Sonoma

Seghesio

Wedding Wine

Delicious Zinfandels as far as the eye can see. Seghesio specializes in Zinfandels and boy am I glad that they do. I love their wines so much and they are such a great value that I served their 2014 Sonoma Zinfandel at my wedding!

Seghesio also offers other delicious Italian varietals including Barbera and Sangiovese. They offer a couple white wines as well, but as you can probably tell by now I am all about the reds.

Lucky us, Seghesio also has an in-house kitchen and executive chef. The Chef's Table food and wine paring is a splurge-worthy decadent and extremely satisfying tasting experience.
